The Return

After Abbey Road on the River, I had emailed Mike, from the Beatle tribute band The Return, to say how much I enjoyed their shows. Janine is friendly with the band, so by the end of AROTR, Katie and I were too. I had mentioned in my email that I saw they were playing in Gaithersburg, but that I was going to be away that weekend. Mike replied that that gig had been postponed til July! So I was able to go see them after all!

Unfortunately a couple of the guys in my band were out of town, but I managed to drag Rob and Al along with Doug and my friend Don. The band played at a cute little outdoor stage in a little park in what seemed like the main drag of Gaithersburg.

The Return sounded great – whoever did their sound did a fantastic job. Each instrument came through crisply and we didn’t get a muddy wall of sound. It was fun show, though not as fun as at AROTR, where everyone jams up against the stage. Mostly everyone sat, til the end, when some folks and their small kids got up and danced around a bit.

Here’s the stage set up. *makes grabby hands at the Rick 360*
