Trip Report: Las Vegas, Part 2

So, the Blogworld convention in Las Vegas was really fun, and I had a great time going to panels with my friend/co-worker Sara.

The first day, they actually gave us lunch too – which was Not Bad.

Witness. Delicious Salad:

Also, steak and some sort of potato thing that was really good.

Dessert, hazelnut mousse!

The view from our hotel room was nothing to write home about, but Sara had a nice view!

Oh, look, the airport!

Mark Burnett, creator of Survivor, gave a keynote/interview thing. We sat in the front row. That was pretty cool!

Vegas is filled with Top Chef owned restaurants!

After we were done for the day, Sara and I decided to explore some casinos. I think Doug and Don went to Zion that day. I figured I’d meet up with them somehow later.

I also only had my iphone on me.

Here’s the tram from Monterey Bay to Excalibur. You can see NY NY in the background.

Bellagio had Halloween decorations up. I’ll have better pics later with my other camera:

We looked up online all the many fountain shows Bellagio has, that they randomly rotate through. We basically wanted any show BUT that horrible “Proud to be an American” song. Sorry if you like it, but I really really don’t. We even thought that awful Titanic song would be better than that. So out of all the shows, there was only one we didn’t want to see.

And guess what show we saw. Yep. Proud to be an American. At least the water show was cool. :-)

Sara had tickets to a show, but the timing worked out so that Doug and Don swung by the casino we were at and picked me up.

We had dinner at Rick Moonen’s restaurant, but it was just ok. These shrimp moondoggies were made on the show:
