Trip Report: Las Vegas, Part 3

I think we’re up to Friday in Vegas.

Sara and I went to panels in the morning, and Doug and Don went to go see the Hoover Dam. We met up somewhere around lunch time and headed to the place that Don and I were really excited to see… the pawn shop from the TV show “Pawn Stars”!!

This little red car was sitting outside and it did show up in a later episode:

We had to wait on line to get inside:

They weren’t actually filming:

We finally got inside – the store was pretty small, and there was a lot of merchandise with teh store name on it.

Chumlee came out for a while:

It was like he was the mascot that they sent out to bump fists and take pictures with people.

I was really excited to see this Beatles butcher album that I’d seen on the show:

The clocks on the top right are like this other “death clock” he talks about here:

A mortar that was on the show:

It was pretty crowded.

We drove past the Pawn Shop later and you can see the line outside:

Next we headed to the Freemont Street Experience.

We did get to see all of the neon there (plus it was daytime). But you can just make out the neon martini glass here:

We couldn’t decide where to eat, so we ended up at this casino buffet that seemed to specialize in brown food. Actually it tasted ok.

Don seems to have a thing lately where he rolls his eyes when I take pictures. I had to make him roll them a second time for this pic. The first was blurry. :D

There was horrible traffic getting back, but we did get back in time to see Erik Trinidad from the Fancy Fast Food blog, which is fun, if you haven’t seen it. (http://www.fancyfastfood.com)

This is the somewhat less impressive view from my room:

At Blogworld, Sara won some passes to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, LV, and we decided to do that in the evening. We’d had a late lunch, I think, so we put off dinner. I will leave off here for now, and continue later with the start of our Casino Death March Grand Tour.
