Trip Report: Las Vegas, Part 4

And so begins seeing ALL the casinos. Well, not really. There are a lot of them.

We (Sara, Don, Doug, and I) took the tram from Mandalay Bay to Luxor:

Inside Luxor. I actually stayed there once, it was ok.

Blurry, but she really reminded me of Willow’s postures:

Here we are, waiting in a not-short line for the Eiffel Tower! It was totally worth it.
DSCF9247

I like how the “legs” of the tower come through the “clouds” (ie, the ceiling) to make it look like you can see the base of it and that you’re really outside. Cute.

Here’s one of the other legs of it.

We finally got up into the tower and the view is gorgeous!

Bellagio! I wonder if there will be a show?
DSCF9257

Actually, I knew there would – we were in the elevator as the last one was finishing. So we took pics and then worked ourselves over so we’d be in a good position to see it. What show would we get this time? Something good I hoped.

And then… Proud to Be an American. Again! Dammit!

The song may suck (sorry!) but it has a lot of big dynamic changes and the fountain show is really nice. Look how high that water gets!

I love the ghostly clouds of mist:

Reluctantly, we came down. There were MORE casinos to see!

I think at this point we parted ways with Sara, who had tickets to another show. And we watched more shows at Bellagio! I believe this was Hey Big Spender.

I taped the 2nd show we saw. Anyone know what the music is? Pretty!

At this point, we changed places a bit, and stuck around for one more show.

It’s been so long, I’m not sure what show this is. “One” from A Chorus Line?
DSCF9312

Then it was inside Bellagio for a bathroom break (did I mention they had nice-smelling soap in the bathrooms).

One quick pic of the Halloween decorations:

A few more of Paris:
DSCF9321

DSCF9322

From Paris we walked to where we could catch the monorail. (What’s it called? Monorail!)

Here’s where the tour took on Death March-like proportions. We’d had a late lunch, so none of us were really hungry for dinner. Until much later. But Don had an early flight the next morning, and we wanted to see as much as we could, so we didn’t want to have a sit down meal. Our goal had been to get to Venice, because everyone kept saying it was really cool. So it became this thing of GET TO VENICE. YOU MUST NOT STOP UNTIL YOU GET TO VENICE. Also, we’d been walking/standing on line for hours already.

Well, we got to the Venetian:
DSCF9330

Oh and here’s the Mirage. BEATLES.
DSCF9325

DSCF9326

The problem was, the place was PACKED. We pushed and squeezed our way through enormous crowds til we finally said “F**k this, let’s get out of here.” We found out that Kim Kardashian was there for an event. Thus all the people.

I snapped a couple pics of the canal out front, but frankly, I didn’t think it was that wonderful. Doug went back the next day and said the shopping areas were cute, like Paris, but with canals. We never saw any of that though. Oh well.

If you look up on the balcony, you can see all the people.

By this time, we were all cranky. And were like, “See ALL the casinos??” And I needed food. I wasn’t starving, but I could tell I needed to eat. Don didn’t want to eat, so we parted ways after a few monorail stops and Doug and I went to the Sbarro we’d passed a few hours back. Can’t recall which casino. The food was SO GOOD. Because we were so hungry.

NY NY looks pretty at night!

And so ends the Great Casino Death March of 2010. My feet hurt SO much when we got back to our room.

One more day and one more night in Vegas and that’s it!
