Seattle Trip Report: Saturday and trip home Sunday

Saturday morning, we rented a car for the day. I was so tired of big meals by this point, that I just had a granola bar for breakfast!

We walked to the car rental place and I got another view of the Space Needle:

As we headed out of town, I spotted the mountains:

It took a bit of navigating, but we managed to find the Fremont troll under the bridge at Rt 99 and 36th street.

Next the three of us headed for the Zoo! I have mixed feelings about zoos in general. But hey, we had a city pass for it, and it was the last one we had to use up. I felt good about having bought it since we used every ticket in it!

Here are the pics that came out best.

I think these are Rhesus monkies? They were doing the typical monkey thing, grooming and eating bugs off each other.

We had a hurried lunch of Zoo hotdogs and popcorn and headed off for our tour of the Boeing factory. No pics allowed there. It was pretty cool, you got a nice view of them building 777s and 787 Dream Liners. And the factory building is huge!

We were able to take pics from the visitors center after, so that’s about all I got!

We tried to drive to the locks after this, but they were closed. So we returned the car. Here’s another view of the Space Needle:

We had dinner at a Mexican place near the hotel in an upscale mall. It was really expensive. Doug and I shared two things. We liked mine but not his as much.

Early Sunday morning we flew home, via Chicago again. I got to show Doug the walkway:
