Florida Trip Report – Monday

Monday we had breakfast at the Grand Floridian. Unfortunately there was an hour wait, despite having a reservation – and it ate up a lot of our time at the parks, which was really limited.

It was nice chatting with everyone of course!

I did get a few pics with characters at breakfast, even though that’s mostly not my thing. But I do love this Mary Poppins outfit:

Plus it’s Alice! Who was TINY.

Michelle got a plate of bacon and grapes at the buffet. Thus another great band name was born.

After breakfast those who were flying out later headed for the Magic Kingdom. Janine and Ron went ahead. We waited for Doug to grabbed Betsy’s luggage from the car so we could get her on a shuttle to the airport and say goodbye. Rogue and Caitlin headed back to the hotel to relax and pack and catch their flight. Michelle, Conley, Doug, Jen, Raj, and myself headed to the Magic Kingdom where we met up with wicked_swann, who I hadn’t really met before. She was nice enough to get me into Disney free so I could save the last day of my 4-day pass for June. By this point, we didn’t have much time (maybe 1.5 – 2 hrs) and everything had lines, so we went on the only two things that didn’t have huge waits, namely, Pirates and Haunted Mansion. Which we’d already been on. However, Jen & Raj hadn’t, so it was fun to see them experience the rides for the first time. We ended up missing Janine and Ron, d’oh.

After we said our goodbyes, Conley, Michelle, Doug, and I got ice cream and did some last minute shopping and then headed back to the car which was still at the Grand Floridian.

And then to the airport – and then our vacation was over! We got back with no problem, but poor Conley, who had the shortest flight, got stuck in the air because of storms and had to land elsewhere and it took her forever to get home.

Anyway, we had a wonderful time, it was so nice to see everyone, and we hope to do it again next year!
