What I’ve been up to (iPhone pic post)

I guess things have been relatively quiet, but here’s what I’ve been up to.

We had a big storm – and got hail! It was maybe dime or nickel size:

I got business cards for my band!

Right after Abbey Road on the River, it turned out that The Return was playing in Annapolis. It’s rare that they’re in the DC area, so Janine and I got tickets. I also invited the guys for a tour at work – they ended up not having much time because of traffic, but we were able to give them a whirlwind look at things.

One of the friends/roadies had awesome tattoos too!

We didn’t have great seats for the show, but as it turned out, there was an empty table right in the front. Janine and I snuck up there to take pics of our Pepper suits (which we got to see in action for the first time, yay!) and stayed for the rest of the show:

After the show, Janine and I headed for their little dressing room so I could fix the medals on John’s jacket – they were one striped too high, a result of having been sewn on at 4am. I’m sure no one had any iea but I noticed! :-)

Janine took a few cool pics during the show:

Doug did a marathon relay with Janine, Ron, and Christina:

Doug and I went to the Annapolis Greek Festival (the food is SO good there) – it’s only once a year and we really look forward to it!

Mmm..baklava sundae:

I went to a Kat’s Victorian picnic in Philly – and wore my new regency gown:

For my birthday, we went to lunch at the Indian place in Laurel. Many jokes were made about their dessert selection.

Then I was given florescent cupcakes at my afternoon meeting that turned everyone’s teeth and lips green and blue. PLUS a Hello Kitty cookie, further used to torment Koji:

Then Doug and I went out to Saigon Noodle House. Yum:

So it was a good birthday.

The next day, Don, Meredith and I took the new guy over the the Excess warehouse – a wonderland of old computer equipment and other misc crap.

And possibly part of a Dalek:

And this, which I thought was really cool:

It’s the cradle used for the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph, and instrument on Hubble!!

We didn’t see any robotic arm though:

A real Hassleblad camera!

So old:

Meredith and I tried to find a power cord for the speakers she was taking with her:

That night we had a few people over for games, which was fun. We ended up playing 3 rounds of “Wonders”, a supposedly quick game that took us 2 hours to figure out, though after that, the games went much faster. It was an entertaining game!

Whee!

And my birthday present, a kindle, with Janine’s new book!
