Photo post (Willow, American Girl, flowers, work stuff, etc)

Can you tell I’m trying to catch up on photos tonight? Here’s what I’ve been up to in July and August (except Poland which I already blogged about!)

We finally got some rain, so my dahlias finally started blooming well.

Willow hogged my computer chair. But she looked so cute, how could I resist?

My friend Damon took a job elsewhere, so after 15 years working together, he’s gone. It’s really sad. (For me, not for him, since he’s got more money and a shorter commute now.) We both started there right out of college and were the only ones who were the same age.

Pic from his goodby lunch #2.

Willow really has claimed the tauntaun sleeping bag for her own:

A Chopin prelude I heard played in Poland. I used to be able to play it too. I can only sorta play it now!

My parents visited and helped me paint while Doug was hiking. Yum, Starbucks:

While they were here, a bunch of us got to go to a tasting at our favorite Burmese place in Silver Spring. They are opening a DC restaurant and are trying out some new dishes. The tasting was after the Silver Spring restaurant closed, so we had dinner at 11pm! The food was awesome and it was so much fun!

My ex-officemate Joe was finally back in town and he came by on Saturday to play guitar for the afternoon. We had an awesome time!

Steve’s daughter – I got her a HP uniform for her new American Girl doll for her birthday, which was recent.

I think Willow missed us when we were at DragonCon:

Today at work, we were given little seeds to plant at our contract meeting. Don and I decided immediately to have a contest to see whose seeds would grow faster. So he suggested we label ours Team Jacob and Team Edward. Then Alex brought his over from next door and announced that his was “Renesme”. Awesome. :-)

Also there was much hijinks today wherein we stole and hid his new monitors (that he stole from his officemate who quit), then while they were being returned, I stole his mouse and keyboard. It took a very long time to notice they were gone. I managed to get his mouse a second time too. It was a fun afternoon. And I even actually got something done. :-)

And a few flower pics from earlier in the summer:
