What I’ve been up to – January/February

First off, in case you were wondering, yep, Rusty is still around and still angry. It’s been over 2 years!

I got a new phone. Originally I only upgraded so I could give my phone to Doug who really needs one but we were stupid and forgot that we have separate carriers and so I can’t just give him my phone. But Conley badly needed one so I was able to give her my old one, so it went to good use. I bought a gold one, which I debated since apparently there are a lot of idiots who want the gold one because it’s some sort of weird status thing? But I just thought the gold was prettiest. And I’ve had two black iphones and since changing phones meant upgrading to ios7, which I wasn’t psyched about, I figured I’d make it all a big change.

Here’s a meta selfie:

I am enjoying the awesome camera on the 5S. It does a really nice job. I started another 365 project, so for indoor pics, I’ve been taking some pics of some of my vintage jewelry.

Here are my Georgian buckles. Love them so much!

Doug and I had lunch in the basement of Reynold’s Tavern. They have a nice fireplace and a Thomas Jefferson quote:

I had scallops. Still on a scallop kick.

Actually we shared them and the fried green tomato BLT:

We’ve been trying out recipes from the Disney Food & Wine cookbook – this was the first one we tried – the braised beef and potato leek waffles. It was really good.

I did a virtual 5k this fall (we walked over 5k while cheer for the Marine Corps Marathon) and finally got my medal:

I sent my friend’s kid some more NASA stuff and he wrote me the cutest letter back:

I love the NASA meatball!

He also sent me the equivalent of a Norwegian kitkat:

It’s been so cold we’ve been getting frost built up on the giant wall of windows in the stairwell in my building. It’s really pretty.

We went out for lunch and two people ordered Sushi which ended up being really pretty.

The art for my Athena’s Daughters story, I love it so much! It perfectly captures my character, who is spending her summer at camp on the moon and doesn’t want to be there.
