I haven’t posted about stuff going on lately, so let’s have a picture post! Snow! Ice and snow! My mom sent me these old pictures of me with our neighbors collie, Shanna. Doug and my ongoing quest to try the recipes in the Disney Food and Wine cookbook. These are the South Korea lettuce wraps with roast pork and kimchi … Continue Reading →

Our last morning in NYC, Katie and I decided to do something super touristy and go to the top of the Empire State Building. I have never been there when there wasn’t a line that was hours long, so I splurged on the tickets that let you skip the lines – and there was absolutely no line. Crazy. The Chrysler … Continue Reading →

More NYC! After our long day of NYC deathmarching, we crashed back at the hotel for a while. Finally we decided we needed dinner, something easy and quick. Clearly NY pizza was in order. So we headed out to check out a place I saw online. The ESB again: Pizza! Yum. After that we wandered past Bryant Park where there … Continue Reading →

NYC, part 5

After our John Lennon sightseeing, Katie and I hit the Museum of Natural History, which I haven’t been to pretty much since college. We didn’t have a ton of time but we were able to schedule in the Planetarium show, a butterfly exhibit (and you all know how I feel about butterflies) and a poison exhibit. The Planetarium show was … Continue Reading →

NYC, part 4

After the Beatles exhibit at Lincoln Center, Katie and I headed up towards Central Park to see Strawberry Fields, the memorial to John Lennon. Here’s the first glimpse of the Dakota, the building he lived in (and which he was killed in front of): Somehow in all my trips to NYC growing up, I never saw Strawberry Fields. Here it … Continue Reading →

NYC Beatles exhibit

Here are the photos from the Beatles exhibit that Betsy told us about. It runs through the spring at Lincoln Center, is free, and you could take pictures! It was awesome! First Katie and I hit the press conference:

NYC, part 3

Back to the NYC trip Katie and I took. One of the coolest things was that they had redecorated the Ed Sullivan Theater to look like it did 50 years ago. So no David Letterman, just The Beatles, Georgia Brown, and Tessie O’Shea.

Francaise Dinner

I was so happy to be able to make the Francaise Dinner this year! Thank you to Judy for organizing it! Having a raffle, and stuff you could buy were nice extra touches. The food was amazing, and everyone looked so good! I rewore my striped francaise that I’d only worn once before at the Costume Con where we mostly … Continue Reading →

NYC, part 2

How about some more NYC pics? I never get tired of views of the Empire State Building. Where I grew up in NJ there were several views of it, and honestly I miss being near the city. So it was really fun to be a tourist.

Birthnight Ball

Gloria, Mike, Taylor, Isabella, Glynnis, Amber and I all attended Gatsby’s 1790s Birthnight ball – a celebration of George Washington’s birthday. It was super fun and for once there were worse dancers than us! Yay! I wore my new gown based on a 1790 fashion plate, which I was able to finish thanks to a snow day. I did style … Continue Reading →

NYC, part 1

Here are some pics of the weekend that Katie and I took in NYC. Katie flew to me from Cleveland, and then we took the train up early Saturday morning. We bought Beatle magazines to read and enjoyed the fact that the Beatles themselves took the train between DC and NYC 50 years ago. We stayed at the Millenium Broadway … Continue Reading →

I had a really cool experience at work – which I blogged about for work. So I’m copy/pasting that blog here for my own reference and in case you’d all like to read it! Here’s the original: http://astrophysics.gsfc.nasa.gov/outreach/podcast/wordpress/index.php/2014/01/24/a-close-up-of-a-space-camera/ A co-worker told me that WFPC2 was sitting out, unconvered, over in our Integration & Test facility. It didn’t really register. We … Continue Reading →
