NYC, part 1

Here are some pics of the weekend that Katie and I took in NYC.

Katie flew to me from Cleveland, and then we took the train up early Saturday morning. We bought Beatle magazines to read and enjoyed the fact that the Beatles themselves took the train between DC and NYC 50 years ago.

We stayed at the Millenium Broadway Hotel, which was awesome. I think we got a good deal because Feb in NYC is the offseason, but it was a really nice hotel, roomy, big lobby, quiet, yet right off Times Square. We did share a queen bed since it was more for two beds, but really, such a great price for a hotel. I’d definitely stay there again. It’s only 10 blocks from Penn Station too.

After we checked in, we got burgers because we were starving. Then we walked west to find High Line Park.

And here is the High Line – it’s an old elevated train line that they made into a park. It runs for quite a ways. I’m sure it’s prettier when it’s green, but it was still neat in the snow.

It was really cold all weekend, so we’ll be bundled up in most of the photos:
