NYC, part 2

How about some more NYC pics?

I never get tired of views of the Empire State Building. Where I grew up in NJ there were several views of it, and honestly I miss being near the city. So it was really fun to be a tourist.

Katie and I met my friends John and Beth for dinner, which was super fun. We went to Brother Jimmy’s BBQ first:

Then we went over to Serendipity for dessert. This is the place that was on Colbert in his segment where he has the $1000 Sundae that they offer. But their more affordable specialty is a frozen hot chocolate. Which was amazing.

They have very large menus:

After we parted ways with John and Beth, Katie and I popped into the Hard Rock in Times Square to see if they had any Beatles stuff going on. They had the Beatles’ suits on display with their TWA bags, plus a Hofner signed by Paul, and George’s guitar from the Concert for Bangladesh.

The next morning we headed across Times Square to meet Betsy for breakfast at Blue Fin. It was Betsy’s birthday also!

I had a breakfast frittata of some sort that was really good:

Awesomely, Betsy mentioned that she’d heard there was a Beatles exhibit at Lincoln Center, and it was the best tip of the day because the exhibit was absolutely amazing and we would have totally missed it if she hadn’t mentioned it! To be continued…
