Our last morning in NYC, Katie and I decided to do something super touristy and go to the top of the Empire State Building. I have never been there when there wasn’t a line that was hours long, so I splurged on the tickets that let you skip the lines – and there was absolutely no line. Crazy.

The Chrysler building:

You can see snow on top of the buildings:

Looking towards northern NJ:

Still no King Kong:

More NJ:

Looking south, still weird not to see the Trade Center there. And I’d never seen the new building before. You can also kinda make out the Statue of Liberty.

A little bit of a panorama:

After that, we checked out of the hotel and then worked our way up 5th ave. We stopped in the American Girl Place, which my mom and I used to always stop in, which was fun!

The newest one of their period dolls is a 70s doll which makes me sad because apparently the decade I was born in is “historical.”

On the plus side, the doll has a cute banana seat bike!

Katie and I got pink “black and white” cookies:

Radio City Music Hall. I remembered my dad used to work right across the street from here when I was a kid:

In this building. He worked for United Brands. Which is the company behind Chiquita Banana and I remember one time he came home with a giant roll of Chiquita Banana stickers which I then put all over the house. Good times.

And then we hit the train and made it out just when it started to snow! Perfect timing!
