Greensboro Adventure, part 2 – Paul McCartney

So when I last posted, we were going to try to surprise Janine with Katie’s appearance at the Paul McCartney concert.

Despite the fact that there were multiple pay lots near the Colliseum, somehow we ended up in the same lot. We hid Katie behind everyone else, and Janine walked towards us apparently thinking “why are they all just standing there? Why is no one walking towards me? Why does Maggie have her cellphone out?”

So success!

Then we spent like an hour on line to get into the venue and to our seats. There were SO many people!

Not much to do in the huge shuffle but take selfies!

This lady had a sign that said “Trick or Treat, please Sign My Feet”. So he called her up on stage. And signed her foot!

After the show, we bumped into her – here’s the signature:

She wasn’t sure at that point if she was going to get it tattooed on – and of course we all told her she should. It’d be foolish not to!! I found an article later that said that she did get it tattooed. Awesome.

The concert was awesome. Then we had to say goodbye and head back to Raleigh-Durham. OMG, we were so tired. We’d both had a long day and though we’d been amped up for the concert, the adrenaline had faded. It was a looong tiring drive back. But we made it and went right to bed.

Our flight wasn’t super early, so plenty of time to get Starbucks, gas up the car (there was a gas station literally right next to our hotel, so easy), before heading to the airport.

I waited with Katie til her flight and then headed to work!

It was such a fun trip, so glad we were able to make it all work and so smoothly!
