Sunset Eclipse

So a couple of weeks ago, there was a partial solar eclipse that was due to be a sunset eclipse in our area.

If you recall, a couple of years ago, some friends and I went out to Arizona to watch a sunset annular eclipse. This one we were able to watch from the roof of Building 34 at work.

Though we nearly didn’t. Look at those skies:

Our only hope was that thin strip of sky near the horizon:

We had our daily tea gathering on the roof. Here’s the gang eating snacks.

As per usual, tea does not pass the Bechdel test on this day.

Here’s the eclipse using my iphone to take pics through my sole pair of eclipse glasses which I was lucky enough to have in my office.

You can see the shape of the sun in the lens flare here, so we lucked out and were able to catch the eclipse in that narrow strip of sky.

And here’s the sun setting in eclipse (as you can see from its shape in the lens flare).
