What I’ve Been Up to – October, part 2

Sooooo… I basically haven’t had time to post since early-mid October. So here’s some pictures and stuff.

Remember when there were pretty flowers and it wasn’t winter?

Doug made these awesome maps from our summer team project, where we walked to Mordor as a group! The dots are the mileage for each day – and we each got a LotR coin with the map at the end!

At work, Alex started The Board of Shame and Despair:

To counteract this, Joe made the Board of Inspiration and Moral Rectitude:

We added a “Number of times we startled Joe” tally to Alex’s board – so then Joe added a “Joe pleasantly surprised” tally to his board:

Look! All 4 MMS satellites! They are launching soon from Kennedy. They’re going to go between the Earth and the Sun to study our magnetosphere!

Doug and I had a 10th anniversary at the Melting Pot, a place we’d not been before. Fondue, yay!

We finally got a banner put up in the cleanroom at work – there’s no identifier on it so when interviews and videos happen, now it’ll be clear where they’re being filmed!

So my friend Håvard messaged me and our friend Cindi one weekend morning saying that he and two of his co-workers had their flight from Oslo to NYC massively delayed and could we check to see if there were late flights from NYC to Vegas (which is where they were going for a work thing). We found him a late flight that night. Then I get a message asking if I could book them on the flight! They were at the airport with not-great internet and just phones. So he sent me their credit card and passport info and I played travel agent. It was really funny. Technology is great. Håvard said that they guys were quite pleased with my travel agent services and sent me this photo of smiling Norwegians. :D
