What I’ve Been Up To, June, part 2

So Alex decided he was going to prop his (many) monitors up on books. This is one of his schemes. He has had many schemes, also including a standing desk, and the weird keyboard you might notice in this picture. So Joe (Classic) and I decided we were obligated to secretly add a book a day to the pile to change the height of his monitor to see how long it would take him to notice.

It was at this point that my officemate texts me to say “Alex came to borrow the tape measure because he wants to know what height monitor stands to use. I asked him and he said they are at the perfect height. He doesn’t seem to realize what you and Joe have been doing.”

Well, after that, Joe and I quickly removed some books.

The next day he brought in his monitor stands and was puzzled that they were the wrong height! hehe We are monsters.

My friend did a guitar spring cleaning, so I decided to do the same thing since I had a bunch that I wanted to restring.

So here we go! This is my Seagull S6 + CW cedar top guitar. It had a broken string and needed a new battery.

Willow approved, judging from the way she’s napping on all my guitar stringing supplies. And within Doug’s belt.

My other Seagull acoustic. This was the first guitar I ever bought. It has such a gorgeous sound and really nice, low action that makes it easy to play. It’s an S6 spruce top.

I didn’t need to restring this Baby Taylor yet. It has been to two Abbey Road on the Rivers with me now!

Joe (Classic) cleaned out the office and found some really old posters – many past AAS meetings, including some from John, who was his and Alex’s predecessor. John has probably been gone for 5 years. We tweeted this pic to John and he said “I wouldn’t remove that if I were you, that’s a load-bearing poster!”

I found this super cool old map:

I got this fortune at lunch when Steve and I went for Chinese (we revolted from Friday lunch one day).

Is there anything better than a fresh avocado?

On the way to Kat’s party, Gloria and Mike and I stopped for party food – and Wegman’s had super fun summer cookies!
IMG_0790

We had Father’s Day breakfast with Gloria’s parents the next day, which was super fun. We had a lot of good food!

We got donuts too!

We ate dinner the night before at a Cafe – don’t remember the name now – but I had a friend tofu and sesame noodle dish that was outstanding.

Doug and I went to a local German restaurant because we hadn’t been in a while. He got a beer flight and I somehow ended up with a half liter, which makes this picture look wrong. (I’m a super lightweight drinker.)
