Disney Food & Wine, Day 2

On to Day 2 of our trip. We got up, put on Halloween shirts, got a Starbucks breakfast, and headed out for a morning at Hollywood Studios. We had lunch/early dinner at Epcot, then hit Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party for the evening.

I love the decor at Tower of Terror! I’m so glad the one in Florida isn’t changing to Guardians of the Galaxy. Boo to that.

We caught the March of the First Order:

My friend Grace noted that you can trade with the Jawas. I happened to have some seashells in my bag, and the Jawa traded me them for a broken robot part! :D

We headed back to the hotel to rest up and get changed for the evening’s event – Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! Several years ago when we went, I saw a girl in a League of Their Own costume, and I thought how perfect that would be for an event like this where it’s usually very very warm. I made it nearly 2 years ago and hadn’t been back for Halloween since I made it, so it was the perfect chance to finally wear it here!

For Doug, I had a Hunger Games tribute costume I got online and he used that. It’s not really that recognizable outside of DragonCon, but it’s what we had that would work for him and not be a million degrees to wear.

Meanwhile, the friends that were feeding Willow, stayed to play a card game and keep her company because they are awesome! They texted me this.

First we hit the Polynesian to check out the new lobby.
IMG_5125

Then, one of the highlights, we went to Trader Sam’s and since the inside was crowded, we were forced to sit here, with this incredible view. Terrible.

IMG_6324

We split a drink that came in this festive zombie head. And you could keep it! Bonus Halloween decoration!

Then this guy set up and played Hawaiian music on the ukulele. Perfection!

Then we hit the mini ferry and sunset hit as we were crossing the water.

HALLOWEEN.

It’s hard to find a good spot to watch the Halloween parade – my fav even though I’m not a big parade person. We stood and waited for a long time once we found a spot. Fortunately we were right on a pokestop, so we each cracked a lucky egg and evolved stuff and caught stuff and chatted, and it killed the time quite nicely! Worth it for this:

We had eaten this afternoon, but we were a bit hungry so we hit Casey’s for corndog nuggets. Also so I could knock off another Disney costume match. The first year we did this, we had a group of friends do Star Trek costumes and we rode Space Mountain. The next time, we did pirate costumes and rode the Pirates of the Caribbean Ride. This time it was just Doug and I, but hey, I was able to get pictures of an old-timey baseball uniform at Casey’s. :-)

We rode the scariest ride of them all! Small World!

And were lucky enough to see the big clock open up!

We caught Hallowishes from behind the castle which isn’t a bad place to view it!

And then it was time to go.
