Disney Flower & Garden Day 1 (April 2017)

In April, Doug and I took a long weekend at Disney for Flower & Garden (and food). We were really hoping for a relaxing stay because the previous time we had been there, we were waiting on some news, and I was jumpy and stressed the whole time we were there, which made it hard to enjoy. And it ended up not being good news – in that none of our embryos were viable, and we’d have to do yet another round (#4) of an egg retrieval. This time at Disney, we were pregnant, at last, and it looked stable this time. It did put a bit of a damper on going on rides, but we didn’t care, we were just happy to be in a good place finally.

This time we splurged a bit and tried staying at the Swan – we’d never stayed there before. It was less expensive than the Yacht/Beach club, but was walkable to both Hollywood Studios and Epcot. When we got there we were unpleasantly surprised that we’d have to pay an exorbitant amount for parking, but they ended up comping it when we mentioned our surprise. I don’t know if that is standard or not. The hotel itself is quite nice, and we’d once before eaten at the Italian restaurant downstairs (Il Molino) which we liked (though we didn’t have time to get there this time). They have a nice pool, but it’s quite a far walk from the hotel. Also, there were people being super noisy in the courtyard downstairs quite late, but they finally got shooed away. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay.

The weather this time of year is gorgeous too, so we had a great time overall.

Here’s Day 1!
