What I was up to – February 2018, part 1

February part 1!

I might have also bought this glow in the dark Marauder’s Map pillow from Pottery Barn.

We didn’t go to our Superbowl Party either this year because the baby was so young and we didn’t want to expose her to germs and she couldn’t be vaccinated against flu, she was too young. And we’d caught the flu before. I actually did go over there for a little while and then came home and watched with Doug. He made awesome nachos!

One of my fav baby gifts – a handmade quilt by our friend Elle! It has a soft flannel on the underside and I love the cherry blossom theme.

We met up with Janine and Ron for Megroll in Alexandria – and we got to see Emma too – Emma was their Danish foreign exchange student and she was visiting.

Our munchkin was with us of course, and got to meet Emma!

I like themed Pokemon gyms. Usually someone screws them up. Here is a pink one!

Someone enjoyed sacking out on the hood of my winter coat:

Doug and I tried a new lobster stand in National Harbor. It was ok. Lobster Mac & Cheese:

She looks unhappy, but she actually wasn’t.

So Pokemon talk. My first EX raid was 3 days after my daughter was born and we were one day out of the hospital and we went because I really wanted to go. We just stayed her in the car with her. And of course, mine ran and I didn’t catch it and I was kind of crushed. Doug, who doesn’t care that much about Pokemon, caught his and it was like a 96% IV. Sigh. So when I got another EX Raid pass, due to a glitch (long story) I was super happy, until I learned it was on a Saturday we were supposed to go to Pittsburgh to visit family. But then Doug’s mom thought she was coming down with a cold, so we postponed til the next weekend so I was able to go after all. I had a friend volunteer to take my old phone and use his wifi hotspot to try to do the raid for me, but it was nice that we didn’t have to end up doing that.

The day was miserable of course.

I was nervous, but I got him first ball! I was so relieved. He’s not great, but not bad. 89 IV.

One of my friends took this:

Back to food pictures. We really love Neo Pizza in Annapolis – they are so much more than just a pizza place, and they have really good specials. Well, they had this burger – and I’m not usually someone who orders burgers in restaurants, but this sounded good and omg it was amazing. The burger was made with a blend of chopped brisket, chuck, and short ribs. This is the Neo burger, with American cheese, fries, grilled onions, and neo sauce. It was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I was really excited that they added it to their regular menu.

We used a hot water bottle to warm the bassinet for our daughter so our arms to the cold mattress wouldn’t be such a shock to her little head. The cat decided she liked this.

A wintery day at the Pond.

Another day I took a walk at a different pond and saw another Great Blue Heron. Or maybe the same one that hangs out at the other pond.

My friend Veronica designed a JWST shirt!

We got together with Mike and Gloria at Graffiato. This place is one of my fav restaurants, which is problematic because it’s owned by Mike Isabella, who has a sexual harrassment suit or two against him now. Sigh. This is why we can’t have nice things. In any case, the food was great as always.

Pokemon Go had a Valentine’s event featuring luvdisc, which is a pokemon I kind of love – a heart shaped fish, I mean… They had shiny ones and since I was still off from work, I really did my best to find a shiny, which was really difficult. I tried and failed at National Harbor and finally, I found one, close to home! They are normally pink. Then the next day, I tapped a random one at home and got a second. After all that work.
