What I Was Up to – July 2018

Here’s July!

We caught the fireworks in DC in our usual spot. Elena’s first fireworks and she seemed to really enjoy them!

Blurry, but I managed to catch a smiley face.

Our breakfast place had this amazing seasonable hash. I wish they still had it!

For Pokemon Go, they had Articuno day and I was one of only a few people that got a shiny one – we did a ton of raids too. So I was pretty happy about that.

Joe had a party for the Laurel fireworks and he made this awesome pie.

Pano!

We used our noise canceling headset for these since they were overhead and not far away and they worked great.

I did wear my Her Universe picnic skirt. I don’t know who had the original idea, but I approve of the use of this theme in clothing since that’s my fav Padme outfit.

With the advent of Pokemon trading, I was able to snag two more Pichus with hats:

The weekend of the 14th we went up to Long Island to visit our friends John and Beth and their daughter F, who is just 6 months older that Elena. We’d not been up to visit them since they moved back there, they’ve always come down to us, but we’d been meaning to rectify that and we were able to finally. We had an awesome time doing brunch, a petting zoo, a cookout for dinner, a Sunday brunch with the rest of John’s family. John’s mom friended me on FB a long time ago and she’s very nice and she gave us a whole gift bag of cute clothes for Elena. We got to hang out and chat a lot and it was a terrific visit.

There was also a shiny Pokemon event going on, so I used incense and hoped for the best and managed to get one of each during the trip and one last one when we got home before the event ended.

This guy I got early on, like the 3rd one I tapped. Then nothing else til a rest stop on the Turnpike the next day. Stupid game.

Saturday breakfast – they let us try out their Ciao Baby chair which they’d told us was awesome and it was and we immediately bought one for Elena. Worth the price because for restaurants it’s fantastic. It has its own tray and keeps her from grabbing stuff off the table. Like knives and hot plates. And she can eat off something we can clean.

The hat was a loaner – here we are at the farm. You can feed the goats!

At this time, Elena was in daycare with two babies older than her, so she was used to getting stuff taken from her. And here is is taking something from F. Oh Elena.

The drive home. So many bridges. Also it took us like 7 hours with traffic. Elena was so good though.

And I got a shiny mawhile from a raid finally!
IMG_7927

Target had a ton of Harry Potter stuff and I might have bought a bunch of things.

This Italian artist who did a cool JWST piece of John Mather as a cat, sent me this:

I got a ton of XP during “Zapdos Day” – unfortunately shiny Zapdos looks unimpressively like regular one so it was hard to tell if you had even gotten one. I lucked out and did – I got two. The catch rates were way better this time. Also it was a horrible rainy day for driving around to raids.
