England Day 4: Harry Potter Studio Tour, part 2

Here’s Part 2 of the Harry Potter Studio tour – some of the outdoor stuff! It was here that we took some of my favorite pictures, so I’m just gonna lead with those. They had the covered bridge from the movies – obviously it wasn’t high up in the air, but right on the ground. It’s really ornate though, and we got some family pics that might be some of my fav ever. I actually commissioned a piece of art of one of them and I’ll post that too. (Obviously since the bridge is on the ground, I wasn’t dangling my baby over a gorge or something!

Here’s the artwork – I added Willow in. Benane on Fiverr did this and I adore it. She even got the detail on our t-shirts!

You could go through the Dursley’s house:

Dudley’s award for the 5 meter race:

And an award for eating his lunch:

I liked the old joke about it being obvious that Harry wasn’t a Ravenclaw, because if he were, he would have picked up a letter from the ground instead of trying to get one from the air:

Godric’s Hollow:

One more by the bridge!

Then to another building with the smaller scale Wizard’s chess pieces:

Me in the Ford Anglia:

Then back in to see some creatures. Here’s Fawkes:

Then it was time to go through Diagonalley. It was cool, but because they are sets, they aren’t real buildings. So for immersiveness, Universal definitely wins.

After some artwork, came the big reveal, giant model of Hogwarts!

At the very end, they had some of the costumes from the new movie (the first one) on display:

Here’s a little video compilation of some of the interactive and moving stuff!
