England Day 5: Liverpool, part 2

On our first day in Liverpool, we hit a John and Yoko exhibit at the Museum of Liverpool, thanks to a rec from a friend. They had all kinds of special memorabilia, some of which I never expected to see. The exhibit was definitely way Yoko-heavy, but she curated it, so there you go.

So, John met Yoko, at the Indica gallery, where she had an “art” exhibit going on. He basically mocked the whole thing – those were the days when he thought she was a nutter. Obviously that changed!

One of her pieces was a ladder. You climbed up it and there was a magnifying glass and on the ceiling was written “yes.”

There was also a board you could pound a nail into for a fee. John offered imaginary money to hammer in an imaginary nail.

Yoko gave out little cards with the word Breathe on them. They had replica cards!

There were also apples on display, and John took a bite out of one.

(Obviously, that isn’t the exact apple.)

Moving on, here is THE circus poster that inspired Being on the Benefit of Mr. Kite.

We came back later and the light was better and I got pics I liked. So stay tuned for those.

We had dinner at a small plates Indian street food place called Mowgli, recommended to me by the same friend that recc’d the John Lennon exhibit. It was awesome! Elena was on her best behavior, the food was great. The restaurant had a ton of white noise, the bartender gave Elena a raspberry. One of our best meals in England!

And lastly, here’s a little video of what our suite looked like.
