Colorado/Albuquerque trip: Day 3, travel plus Balloon Fiesta attempt that ends in failure

The day after our Sand Dunes adventure, we packed up and rolled out of Alamosa, back to Albuquerque. After a quick Starbucks breakfast!

In New Mexico, near Albuquerque, lots of bridges are decorated with Native American art and list some of the tribes, which I thought was cool.

Once in town, we yelped another restaurant and hit into Cocina Azul, which got great reviews, especially the brisket chile relleno. Which we ordered. It was delicious.

Our next stop was the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta… only… no balloons. The weather was rainy AND windy, and apparently that is a bad combination for balloon powered by flames. This was the only evening we had there so I was very sad to miss balloon glow.

Instead we drove around so I could check out some Breaking Bad filming locations.

We tried the Sandia tram (something I wanted to do while we were in town), but of course the high winds shut that down too. Nice view though.

Ok, Breaking Bad location number 1, Walt and Skylar’s car wash! It’s now a Mister Car Wash.

Next up, dinner at a Poke place. I wasn’t super hungry after that lunch, but this worked. The place was called the Poki Poki Cevicheria. I believe we ordered the Boss Bowl, a fish taco and a carnitas taco.

They also had delicious tacos.

Then it was Moana o’clock!
