What I was up to – January 2019

So, now that we’ve covered Christmas at length and caught up on all our fall travels, let’s move into what I was up to… back in January. Yeah, still behind.

For New Years we did go to our annual Steve & Mindy hosted party, though we left substantially earlier than usual to get munchkin to bed. She did not stay up til midnight, though we did.

My parents sent back their own pic:

We had a lovely New Years Day meet-up with Janine and Ron and Betsy, who was visiting.

We walked around after lunch but it was pretty cold at National Harbor.

She fell asleep on the way home and spent her nap, napping on us.

Doug went to a conference and I was on my own for a week. Went pretty well. Janine came over one night and kept me company and help me through some giveaway stuff. I was settling her with a bottle when Janine left, and as soon as Elena saw her go, she struggled down from my lap, and toddled after Janine!

And I caught a shiny aerodactyl from a task finally!

Willow likes the little chair Elena’s aunts and uncles bought her for her birthday:

I love these galaxy macarons from Makahron. They are milkyway candy flavored of course. Quilt by Gen.

Finally caught 300 XL magikarp.

Spotted in the window of a housewares store at the mall. Very random, no?

We were able to do restaurant week with both Mike & Gloria as well as Owen and Lauren. Owen used to be in the office next door to me but changed jobs. We went to Succotash in DC for their tasting menu. It was a lot of heavy southern food. Delicious but filling.

And dessert, which I nibbled on and took home.

We drove to Delaware for a Victorian tea. Doug took the munchkin to a kid’s museum while I had tea, and desperately tried (unsuccessfully) to get a shiny feebas on Pokemon.

We had an Odd Night Out with work friends at La Malinche in Silver Spring, a place we’ve actually been a few times for tapas. I like their food. I didn’t get many food pics because it went down so fast, but here was the delicious paella.

And that was January!
