Disney Princess Trip, part 1 (traveling)

In late Feb, we planned a long Disney weekend to meet up with friends for the Disney Princess Half.

Before we left, Elena did some sweeping up for us.

This was only, what, a few months ago? ok, more than that. And she’s so much bigger now!

When we got to the airport, this was the first bad sign (literally!):

The second was that we immediately after security found out our flight was delayed, from like 11ish to 1:30. We thought maybe we could go to the mall nearby or home or something to kill time. But of course, they said to stick by the gate in case they got a plane sooner. Then our flight got delayed til 4:30. We found this out just after 10am. That is a loooong amount of time to kill in an airport with a toddler. :-/ Also, by the time we would actually get to Florida, we’d have nothing of our first day left. So that sucked. On the plus side, we got $600 of vouchers. But still.

So we pushed the stroller around for a while:

Then had some alcohol and Moana at the Mexican place at the airport.

Then she went down hard:

I was posting about this on our office social slack, and Joe asked what gate we were at. And then showed up!

His flight to Colorado was also delayed and if he hadn’t checked a bag, he actually would have ended up on our flight. But alas.

Right before we (finally) got on our flight I (finally) got a shiny murkrow in Pokemon Go.

Once we were on the plane Elena played with a little boy who was in the seat in front of us:

Finally in FL:

We got to our resort (first time staying at Shades of Green since we didn’t realize civilian military employees could stay there) in time for some fireworks.

And despite leaving the house at like 8:30 am, this was our entire day. Boo.
