The weather on our last day in Maine was beautiful. Thankfully. (This post has a lot of pics since it was actually good weather and we were able to do more!)
These photos are from Doug’s morning run:
The previous day, I had run into the Hulls Cove General Store for drinks or something, and they’d been baking brownies and cookies, and the person running the store said they had breakfast sandwiches too! So we stopped there first thing, and the sandwiches were great!
Then we headed to Acadia to do the loop again. Obviously any hiking time was totally truncated, though we did get a chance to do some walking along some of the paths. But no time to do a real hike. We’ll just have to come back.
Much better view of this today:
Next up, Thunder Hole! Where the water is crashing into a small channel. Depending on the tides, it looks like it can be really intense.
We walked til we ran out of trail that we could take a Bob stroller over!
Next, the drive up Cadillac Mountain! WAY different than the previous day!
A much better view than yesterday!
Once we’d gotten through the Acadia loop, it was time for lunch, and to drive back to Portland for our flight home.
For lunch, we selected Smokey’s BBQ & Lobster.
And because it got good reviews on Yelp, we got a brisket sandwich too. It didn’t disappoint!
We also got blueberry pie, which was the best of the trip.
Elena was happy because there was gravel in the parking lot.
Then we drove past this and I made Doug stop the car. We actually passed it on the drive in but couldn’t stop.
Another interesting yard we passed:
After some bagels for dinner at the airport, we were on our way:
And that was our Maine trip! Hope to go back, we really enjoyed it!
