Christmas 2019

Christmas was a really happy time for us, so it’s nice to revisit 6 months ago. When we could be around other people.

Last year we did a mall Santa, this time a friend of mine had recommended a Santa pop-up in an Annapolis shopping center. We had happened to have dinner there so we decided to check it out. It was pretty much empty, so we gave it a try. The people could not have been nicer and since Elena was deep into Stranger Danger, they didn’t push us or her, and eventually she warmed up enough for us all to sit with Santa. The biggest thing she didn’t like was the camera flash. She *really* hates those.

We got some cute pics though and overall I was really happy with the experience. If this is ever possible again, I would do it!

This was our holiday card, using the beautiful photos Stephanie took of us in the fall. It makes me a little sad now since 2020 is such a garbage fire. I still love the card though.

This season I had Jenny O’s “Get Down for the Holidays” in my head on permanent repeat.

Speaking of, I think I attended 4 or 5 work holiday parties.

Here’s #1.

Here’s little ramekins I won from party #2, which then went to Doug’s office for their gift exhange.

For the first time we did Xmas cookies with Elena and it was SO fun and messy.

Elena seemed to like her reindeer slippers which were a gift from Jasmin last year:

Outside the grocery store, they had these charity bears that would glow when people donated money. Elena was really really taken with them.

The chocolate lady who has a table at the cafeteria at work sometimes had adorable christmas stuff!

For the first time in my 23 years at Goddard, I made something for the astro potluck party instead of just buying a ticket.

Christmas morning!

I gave Elena these little dress-up sets I got at Target when she was a baby – been saving them for her!

I got her a Clifford dog because she had one at daycare she liked and this one she can keep.

And I also went on an epic hunt for the Sven rocking horse/reindeer after initial not buying it and then deciding I really wanted it.
