Back to Feb 2020 (the last 5 minutes of good this year) to our Williamsburg trip. I already blogged about our Friday, so on to Saturday!
Morning snuggles with Elena. She did fine in her pack and play overnight.
We hung out downstairs with Gloria while Mike went out for bagels for everyone. Here’s Elena coloring with a pencil.
I also brought out the lovely horse set that Gen gave her the previous night – Gen made the clothes on the little man and the blankets and bridles for the horses. Thank you Gen!
Then Doug (thank you Doug!) entertained Elena so I could hit the spa with Mike & Gloria. I’d been looking forward to that massage for months. The last time I was there I was pregnant so no full massage.
Doug got Elena this cup with a straw in it which she loved until ultimately it got knocked off a table at home and cracked. :-(
For lunch we ordered sandwiches online from the deli, and Doug went and picked them up!
Then I had to get ready for our costumed stroll! After a lot of deliberation, I decided to wear my Sleepy Hollow gown, but with more historical accessories instead of the movie look (with hair down and a big bow).
Here’s one for #HistoryMirrorMonday:
Our meet-up spot was the Governor’s Mansion. Here’s Gen!
Here’s me squinting into the sunlight!
I loved this Charmander francaise gown:

We got the carriage in this one!
We took a bunch of different group shots as we accrued more and more people.
I really love this house/tree:
We did stop for a while in this lovely garden and Mike was able to get some shots of me before the group caught up.
I captured Mike shooting a pic of Gloria in this little garden:
After that, a stop for snacks! Photo by In the Long Run Designs:
I changed for dinner, because toddler, which ended up being smart because she accidentally spilled soup on me. But again, was really well behaved at dinner and we had a nice meal at the DoG street pub!
Doug and I split the fish & chips and the chicken tikka masala:
After dinner we hosted a party at our house! It got really crowded and besides wanting to keep tabs on the toddler so she didn’t get in the way, the social anxiety really came out. :-( Hosting (co hosting) a party is tough with a toddler. So the party was a little tough for me. After Elena was in bed though, Doug and I had a really nice long convo with Laci and her fiance.
Oh, and I almost forgot my fav story. So you can enter this house from the back parking lot. And you can see into the hallway of the house from that lot. One of our guests said they weren’t sure they had the right place because when he looked in, all he saw was a lone man moving in a circle all by himself. Actually it was Doug, holding hands with Elena, and dancing in a circle with her. Only this guy couldn’t see Elena so it just looked like Doug being weird all by himself. Too funny!
And that was Saturday! A busy and good day. With still one more day to come in our trip!
