Katie and I spent an afternoon at the Cleveland Museum of Art – it was free and a really nice museum with a great cafeteria! They had a lot of really old textiles! This is from Egypt and is 1000 years old! So is this! I have lots more pics of the textiles and of the captions – and of … Continue Reading →

So when I visited Katie in Cleveland, we went to the Rock Hall again. I think I could just camp out permanently at that place. There is always so much to see – and they do change the exhibits up so while some things were the same (and I tried to mostly not photograph the same things I did last … Continue Reading →

Doug had a conference in Cleveland so I went with him to visit Katie. Katie and I did the Rock Hall, Melt, Squire’s castle, the duck pond, Granite City, and the art museum…all in 3 days! On the flight there, we flew through gorgeous clouds – and storms that caused us to get out late and fly around Cleveland waiting … Continue Reading →

So I went through my little record collection – stuff from my parents and a few things of my own, including a box of 45s I got at a garage sale as a kid. Willow helped: The box of 45s really is gold though – check out some of the awesomeness. BTW, an identical 45 of Help! is in the … Continue Reading →

Sunflower: Doug and I managed one more dinner with Amber before she left for Rhode Island. We went to the all the meat you can eat Korean BBQ place in Rockville. It was really fun. (Also, everytime I hear “Rockville,” I have a compulsion to quote the REM song… “Don’t go back to Rockville!” Then we went kayaking with Doug, … Continue Reading →

We’ve had a lot of exciting things going on with the Jame Webb Space Telescope here at NASA Goddard. A recent one was … Continue Reading →

Here’s what I’ve been up to for the first part of July. I helped out with a last minute G+ hangout for Google’s Maker Camp at work. Here’s our JWST speaker. The giant centrifuge at work that mostly gets used as storage: Moth: Kevin’s cat Raoul – amusing that he’s pillowing his head on the carpet, but has his body … Continue Reading →

We got back from Alex & Holly’s wedding in time to go to the fireworks in Laurel with friends. We missed the DC fireworks, but the Laurel ones are always nice – and they went on for like 40 minutes! Great show!

So Alex and Holly got married in NY on the 4th of July – our whole crew from work went up for the event and it was a really fun time. I had this dress with constellations on it from modcloth that I thought would be perfect for the occasion. http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/universal-stunner-dress Doug and I: Everyone was all fancy – not … Continue Reading →

We went to a friend’s wedding (Alex, my amusing, goofy work friend, whom you have pictures of here) up in NY. Actually the wedding ended up being not that far from where I grew up – probably 20 minutes away! We had some time to kill before the wedding, and our other friends had already gone to Storm King (a … Continue Reading →

For Janine’s 35th birthday, Ron threw her a campain-themed birthday party – because now she can run for president! And what’s more appropriate in DC? Here’s a pano with 2.5 Rons in it (left, right and almost center) They were setting up for the Folk-life festival when we went down there: Smithsonian castle: My favorite carousel horse: Me and Janine … Continue Reading →

On our last half-day at Disney, we had lunch at Yak and Yeti, which was very good. We had dumplings, strip steak and shrimp with a side of fried green beans. And the dessert wontons: We kind of like the bird show at Animal Kingdom: Safari: We manged to go on Everest 3 times total I believe. Single rider twice, … Continue Reading →
