As a fundraiser, the Arlington, VA library system threw a Gatsby-era event called the Eight-Thirteen ball. Doug, Amber and I went and met Isabella, Jessica, and Kristin there. We had a blast – there was free food, great music by a live band, and 20s dancers. And lots of costumes! I also wore the twenties seed bead rope necklace I … Continue Reading →

Georgian Picnic weekend, the non-picnic parts

So, as you saw, I was lucky enough to get to go to Texas for the DFWCG Georgian picnic. My dad was nice enough to use his frequent flyer miles on my ticket and was nice enough to let me stay with her, so the weekend basically just cost me the cost of airport parking. Which was very cool. The … Continue Reading →

Last night was Jenny-Rose’s regency card party – I had an awesome time and everyone look so great! It was also really nice to finally meet idlewild_grey, who I’ve known on LJ for some time, and whose work I really admire. It was also nice to meet Nicole, whose blog (http://mantuadiary.blogspot.com/) is quite well known in historical costume circles. She’s … Continue Reading →
