Artist Event

The following is an event I organized that turned into a massive project, that has turned into one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I posted about our having a media day for JWST back in November. We also wanted to have a social media component to it, but we’re always trying to come up with ways to … Continue Reading →

RIP Piers

So very sad today to hear that astronaut and scientist Piers Sellers passed away this morning. A year ago in November, he announced that after thinking he had complications after gall bladder surgery, in fact he had learned that he had terminal pancreatic cancer. I can’t even imagine getting a sudden diagnosis like that, but his email about it was … Continue Reading →

Let’s move on to July, shall we? Because it will soon be September and I’m behind again. Here’s our Miss Willow, back on July 1 – she is still doing very well. Behind her, sadly, Larry Wilmore. I’m pretty bummed about the cancellation of The Nightly Show. I think it was a really important voice to have right now, and … Continue Reading →

A special JWST moment

I have a veritable ton of photos to share of JWST because it has been a hugely eventful spring with much of the construction of the actual telescope part of it coming together right here. Some of the photos I’ve been posting in my little reports of what I get up to each month. But this one is special so … Continue Reading →

John Barrowman Visit

Here’s a cool work thing that happened recently. So sometimes talk to tour and other groups about JWST by our cleanroom window. A volunteer was needed for some AwesomeCon people, so I said I would take that tour, since my co-workers and I were doing an AwesomeCon panel on JWST. And I figured it would just be a group of … Continue Reading →
